Cancellation: $25 deposit is non-refundable.  The balance is refundable within 1 week of the start of camp.

  • Does Northland Bible Camp offer financial assistance or payment plans?

Thanks to the generosity of our many friends, Northland Bible Camp is able to offer financial assistance for your child in the form of scholarships. These scholarships are limited so if interested,  please contact our Camp Director, Paul Frey at (608) 387-5199 to request assistance.

  • What is a "Canteen" Card?

A canteen card is how we keep track of your child’s spending money while they are at Northland Bible Camp. Whatever money you or your child bring to check-in for use during the week is put into an individual account, called a Canteen Card.  These cards are pieces of paper with change amounts in a grid. These cards allow staff to keep track of what money your camper has spent throughout the week.

  • Why do we use Canteen Cards?

For safety and convenience, we don’t use cash during the week of camp.  Instead, we prepare a canteen card for each camper.

  • Where can my child(ren) spend money at camp?

Canteen, which opens at roughly 1:30 p.m. daily, offers a variety of snacks and candy for purchase.  Also, free-will offerings are collected during evening chapel service.

  • How much money should I send with my child to camp?

This depends on the child/family.  Typically, campers have $10 to $20 or more in spending money.

  • What happens to any money my child doesn't spend by the end of the week?

We keep track of what money each camper has spent from the amount they brought with them.  If there is anything left on their Canteen Card at the end of the week, we give that money back to them at check-out.

  • How can I send my child(ren) mail while they're at camp?

    For resident campers ONLY:

Letters or packages can be sent to the following address:

                        Camper's Name

                        c/o Assembly Park Camp

                        10682 E. Minnesuing Acres Dr.

                        Lake Nebagamon, WI 54849

During camp, you can also send an email to your camper at Biblecamp.northland@gmail.com.  Please be sure to put the camper's name in the "Subject Line" of the email.

  • How does camper check-in and registration work?

You may check-in your child anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, the first day of camp.  Check-in takes place inside the chapel.  This is where you will make sure that all paperwork and payments have been submitted; campers will find out their cabin name and Bible class number, turn in canteen money, and so forth.

  • Where do I bring my child(ren)'s medication?

All camper medication must be turned in to the nurse in their original containers.  She will be stationed in the Nurse’s Cabin, next to the monkey bars.  Please be prepared to answer any questions the nurse(s) may have about the items you are dropping off.

  • When should I leave?

You are welcome to stay for dinner which will be served at 5:30 p.m.  For camper safety and security, only adult staff are allowed on the grounds thereafter.  This will also help the campers quickly transition so that everyone can have a great week!

  • How does closing day work?

Pick-up time is at 9:00AM on Friday.  You will check-out your camper just outside of the chapel.

  • How do I check out my camper?

Only an authorized parent or other authorized adult can pick up a child, and that adult must be listed on your child’s Registration form.

  • Where do I pick up my child(ren)'s medication?

See the camp nurse in the Nurse’s Cabin (next to the monkey bars) to pick up your camper’s medications.

  • My child has special dietary needs -- What should I do?

Northland Bible Camp does its best to accommodate special dietary needs.  It is important that you note dietary needs and food allergies on the registration form so we can plan for the necessary accommodations.

While Camp cannot plan menus around particular individuals, we have learned helpful ways to serve children with food allergies.  Some guests find it necessary to bring a supply of their own food to supplement the camp’s menu and canteen choices.  Kitchen staff will see that it is properly stored and dispense the food at appropriate times.

  • Is there medical staff on-site during the week of camp?

Yes, there is always at least one nurse on site during the week of camp.

  • My child has medications -- How does my child receive them throughout the week?

You can drop off your child’s medications with our camp nurse(s) at Check-In, including any needed instructions.  All prescription medication MUST be in their original containers, labeled with patient’s name, description, dosage, time taken, expiration date, and doctor’s name.  Medications are administered by the camp nurse and are typically administered following meal times and at light’s out.

  • What happens if my child gets sick or injured at camp?

Our camp staff are committed to excellence and safety.  While open, our waterfront is staffed by a certified lifeguard and a nurse at all times. The camp nurse(s) deal with all injuries and may administer over-the-counter medication and prescribed medication as guided by the information provided in the camper’s medical form.  In the event of an extended illness or injury, parents will be notified as soon as possible.

  • What should my child pack for camp?

Our suggested packing list is located on the "Registration" page.

  • Does Northland Bible Camp have security on-site?

Northland Bible Camp believes that your child’s safety is one of our top priorities.  We have run background checks on all our staff, to ensure a safe camping experience for all.  We also have staff who work as our Night Watch, making sure that campers are safe in their cabins and monitor weather related scenarios.

  • What is Northland Bible Camp's Policy regarding behavioral problems?

Most years, we have small discipline issues that our cabin leaders handle with love and respect.  Occasionally, a behavioral problem escalates beyond the scope of the cabin leader, where the full weight and authority of the Camp Director is brought to bear.  Ultimately, any camper willfully disregarding NorthLand Bible Camp rules or willfully destroying property will be considered financially responsible for damages and is subject to being sent home at camper expense, with no refund of fees.

  • What happens if my child gets homesick?

Staff members are well prepared to help your child overcome their case of the “lonelies” and make the most of their camp experience.  Kids will often take their cue from your preparations for Camp: keep things positive by reminding them about all the fun they’ll have at camp as well as why they wanted to attend in the first place.  In our experience, an attempt to reassure a hesitant child with a promise (for example, “If you don’t like it, we’ll come get you”) sets kids up for thinking they may not like it and will want to leave, often leading to an unhappy and early departure.  If your child does experience severe homesickness, you will be contacted by Camp staff to discuss the situation.

  • What if my child struggles with wetting the bed?

Bed wetting is a common issue we encounter at camp.  Our cabin leaders are trained to deal with the situation discreetly.  Campers are encouraged to use the bathroom before bedtime.  If this is a particular struggle for your child, we would recommend that your child brings an extra set of bedding as well as a garbage bag for soiled sheets.  In the event of an accident, the second set of bedding will be used while the first set is being laundered.

  • Can I contact my child? Can they call me?

To provide the best possible experience for the campers, free from distraction, we would discourage family contact during the week.  However, if you have a need to contact your child during their time at camp, please call the Camp Director, Paul Frey, at (608) 387-5199, and appropriate arrangements will be made.
